When is the best time to travel?

Generally, the best time to travel is during the dry season (June, July, August, December, January and February). These months offer a better game viewing experience as well as for those that are doing Gorilla trekking activity, the hike is a lot easier during the dry months as the trails leading to the home of the Mountain Gorillas are dry. However, if you are one who prefers a more intimate experience then October, November, March, April, and May are ideal as most tourists tend to flood the parks in the dry months.

The current travel restrictions due to Covid

Currently, no PCR test is needed to travel to East Africa. However, when leaving, if your country of destination requires you to present a PCR test on arrival then it is advised you follow the travel mandates of your destination when leaving East Africa.

How much money should I bring and are payments with credit cards acceptable?

If you are from Europe, you would rather carry pounds or Euros as they have a better exchange rate to shillings compared to US dollars. Honestly, only you can determine how much money you will need depending on your spending habits.  If you would like to just bring a credit or debit card, it is best you bring a visa card as it’s more common here than MasterCard.
